On the way into Plymouth, about 6 miles from Bridge House, is St. Mellion Golf and Country Club
Travelling further west, "Down Cornwall", Bodmin Moor contains spectacular scenery. The photograph below shows "Brown Willy" Driving across Bodmin Moor provides an opportunity to visit the scene of Daphne DuMaurier's most famous novel "Jamaica Inn" A stop here will suggest some of the bleakness of the story, simply by experiencing the building and it's surroundings, and the museum it contains. The food will cheer you up though! During the summer, there is nowhere better than a Cornish Beach in the sun, and you're spoilt for choice. On the South coast, as just one example, is Portwrinkle beach. and, if you're after a more developed resort, there's Falmouth |

Continue further West, to St.Austell, to discover what has been called "one of the wonders of the modern world" - the Eden Project
Just a little further, on the south coast, lies a tiny, unspoilt fishing village, with beaches that see few visitors, and which shelters a number of large traditional sailing ships - Charlestown
On the North coast, which is a surprisingly short drive away, is Padstow, with Rick Stein's restaurants, an attractive working harbour, and yet another beach
Travel further west, and cross to the Isles of Scilly for a unique experience of unspoilt Britain - the view to the left is from St.Martins, one of the inhabited islands
